The Gherkin, as it has become affectionately known , this glass building is the latest of a number planned for the City. It replaces the Baltic Exchange which is a sad loss.

With the replacement the City adds more confidence to its stride and to its outlook.

There are some old shops in Spitalfields, these buildings are now protected as is most of the area. The new developments are making a big impression as is the changes to the market proper, in its new form as an entertainment centre.

Well worth a visit if your in that part of London and not too far from Brick Lane, title of book and well know dishes from India
